Fragrance has a way of attaching itself to life. A perfume can bring back a person or a place. A room scent can change the feeling of home. Sometimes it is simply the final thing you reach for before walking out the door.

That is the kind of place we want Zayya to have in your life.

Inspired by the Wild Coast

Zayya was born on the KwaZulu-Natal Wild Coast, where subtropical green meets the sea and the air carries salt, warmth and the occasional wild change in weather.

There is something about living here that has shaped the way we think about fragrance. Life feels a little less hurried, nature is always close, and there are still stretches of coastline that feel wonderfully removed from everything else.

We began with perfume, but our interest was never only in what you wear on your skin. As Zayya grew, so did our fascination with the way scent can live throughout a home, mark a moment, or quietly become part of an everyday routine.

Made to be lived with

We like fragrance that feels considered without feeling precious.

The perfume you reach for on an ordinary morning. The room mist you use before people arrive. The candle you light when the day is finally done. The scent that, months later, unexpectedly takes you straight back to a particular place or time.

These are not grand rituals. They are small parts of everyday life, and that is exactly what makes them matter.

We want Zayya creations to be used, enjoyed and eventually associated with your own memories rather than kept aside waiting for the right occasion.

Perfume remains at the heart of Zayya, but the world around it continues to grow.

Today, our collection reaches beyond personal fragrance into room and linen mists, reed diffusers and candles, with new ideas continually being developed in our studio.

Some will live on your skin. Others will become part of the way your home feels.

They all begin in the same place: our fascination with scent.

We develop and blend our creations with care, working in small batches and taking our time over the details that matter to us.

Zayya is vegan and cruelty-free, and we want what we make to feel considered from the moment an idea begins through to the moment it reaches your home.

We are still experimenting, still learning and still discovering where fragrance can take us. That is part of the enjoyment of building Zayya.
